Targeted support and rich extension opportunities for every student.
At Mindalk, we recognise that every student learns differently and progresses at their own pace. Our approach ensures no child is left behind or held back. Through continuous assessment and data informed decision making, we identify learning needs early and provide targeted support or extension opportunities. Whether a student needs additional help to build foundational skills or enrichment to extend their thinking, we design personalised pathways that ensure growth, build confidence, and foster a love of learning for all students.
Students who need additional support receive focused, explicit instruction in small groups, using evidence-based strategies that accelerate learning in literacy and numeracy.
Systematic intervention targeting the Big 6 components of reading: oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Each element is explicitly taught to build strong foundational reading skills.
Structured writing intervention addressing handwriting, spelling, composition, and written expression, ensuring students develop confidence and competence as writers across all text types.
Structured mathematics intervention focusing on number sense, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical reasoning.
Advanced learners access challenging projects, inquiry-based learning, problem-solving tasks, and opportunities to deepen their understanding through critical and creative thinking.
Teachers regularly analyse student data, classroom performance, and assessment information to identify individual needs. When a child requires support or extension, tailored goals are set and targeted learning plans are developed. Families are kept informed through ongoing communication and progress updates, ensuring parents, teachers, and students work together. Progress is monitored closely, with the approach adjusted as needed to ensure each learner continues to grow.
Mindalk Teachers identify students through regular assessment and classroom observations. We contact families promptly when additional support is recommended, explaining the approach and expected outcomes clearly.
Extension includes enrichment projects, advanced problem-solving tasks, and inquiry-based investigations that provide challenge beyond the standard curriculum.
Students are monitored continuously through classroom assessment. Formal screeners occur at least three times yearly, with additional assessment to track progress.
Intervention is carefully scheduled within the classroom. Students remain engaged in core curriculum while receiving targeted support in specific skill areas that accelerate their overall learning.
